Picture book illustration course with Madeline Pinkerton, plus introduction to digital composition, retouching and basic animation.
They say everyone has a book in them and picture book illustration is a wonderful skill to have to bring your ideas to life.
Submarine have teamed up with the brilliant illustrator Madeline Pinkerton to create an introduction course that will provide you with the tools and inspiration to get you started as an illustrator.
Projects will include hand drawn and painted illustration work and you will also learn how to layout, retouch and manipulate your images with Submarine Graphic Arts lead tutor Tom Ellis. The course will also include a basic introduction to digital art and animation software (Procreate and Procreate Dreams) so you can add moving details, sequence your images and format them into digital files.
Join us for this creative and relaxed 8 week course which starts on Tues 7th January.
Suitable for all abilities and all students are encouraged to work in their own styles.
Each group will have its own online gallery page where they can download and share all the digital work they create.
All equipment and materials included.
Students will also receive digital prints of their best work.

Madeline Pinkerton

Madeline is an Illustrator based in Scotland. Her art inspiration comes from observing the natural world and the little creatures and stories it contains.
Madeline’s first picture book ‘A Dragon Story’ was published by Little Door Books and she has run various events and workshops with festivals, local libraries and schools.
