Submarine is delighted to announce the launch of Magazine Club. Be part of the team creating the inaugural issue of…
SUBMAZINE!
Given the amount of amazing work being produced by Submarine pupils, it feels like a natural next step to create a magazine to showcase their output. And alongside the fantastic visual art you've come to expect, Submazine will also be packed with creative writing, reviews and much more!
Each month, Magazine Club participants will receive guidance and prompts encouraging them to have a go at creating a particular type of content - it could be composing poetry, compiling puzzles or writing how-to instructions for an art project. Alongside the month's focus, there will also be plenty of scope for pupils to explore and express their own creative passions. We're looking for comics artists, feature writers, reviewers, photographers... What matters most is your enthusiasm and willingness to try new things.
As Magazine Club progresses, there will be the opportunity for participants to try a range of different skills, such as interviewing, designing advertisements and laying out pages.
Come along and be part of something special! All equipment and materials will be included.
Our first sessions will be structured around the following topics:
Concrete Poetry
Illustrated workplay
Puzzles and Quizzes
Comics
